Mad Hatter Tea Party
The Mad Hatter Tea Party is an annual birthday party for the under-served kids in our community. Division 13 has the privilege of hosting the Mad Hatter Tea Party every year in collaboration with the Kiwanis Clubs in our community. (Division 13 is composed of Lakewood and Key Clubs from other high schools around Pinellas County). We're expecting around 350 kids and their families over the course of the two parties.
Volunteer Opportunities
Key Members have the opportunity to help out with many things. They construct the infamous rainbow balloon arch (several thousand balloons) in the morning while setting up for the party.
They then dress up in fun Alice-in-Wonderland costumes to entertain the kids, while also serving as party assistants. They assist the kids with making their Mad Hatter hat or crown, monitor them during the carnival games, making hotdogs, and serve snacks and drinks. In addition, kids receive backpacks, folders, notebooks, stationary, and other school supplies they will need for the school year. After the party ends, we have the annual balloon popping race and clean up and break down the rainbow balloon arch and all materials. |
